One VANMOOF = One bike donated to a village in Cambodia For the third year, Wheels for Hope made their annual donation trip to Cambodia for their program to bring second-hand bikes bought from the region to school-age children. In February 2014, Wheels for Hope and Creed Cycle (with its One4One VANMOOF program) went to two schools in two rural provinces, about three hours from Phnom Penh. 67 bikes went to a school in Oudong and 60 to one in Kampong Cham. This second school is “Kyong” – one of the poorest schools in one of the poorest places. This school is shared by five villages, with many of the students travelling 5km on foot. Having a bike can really help get the kids to school, and hopefully help break the cycle of poverty. As Kevin Tan of Creed Cycle remarked, it is not a long-term solution but they would like to help where they can. As biking enthusiasts, this makes sense.
