Have you ever felt that the system simply makes NO sense?
You are not alone.
A system that is based on scarcity breeds a win-lose mentality and perpetuates this lie of not enough. It is survival – fear-based, hoarding, etc – when really we are here to thrive. We have been sold and mostly bought the idea that working hard leads to success, which is equated to winning, and everything else makes us losers. In this fast-paced world, it is simply too difficult for most people to keep up and so we fall deeper into these limitations set for us and perpetuated by ourselves.
As children we receive all sorts of messages, about what everything is and what everything means and we are taught this is how the world works – competition – so we go to school, study hard, and get a job. To keep up, for far too many people, “the response is dysfunction.”
Most of us formed the concept of our own identity by the age of 10 and so who’s running our lives and the world?
Jon Gabriel speaks about how for one whole winter he did not see the sun one single time, being stuck at his cubicle and over the years going from 180 lbs to over 400lbs due to self-medication with food and TV. Another person shared how she worked for a sought-after company and she was simply bored. We numb and distract ourselves on a “hedonistic treadmill” with entertainment, material goods, drugs and alcohol. It takes awareness to see that we are wasting time reading fashion magazines and falling prey to advertisement that perpetuate this type of living.
We play the game and it’s not even our rules or values. AND we sacrifice something to play this game. Is the game working? Are you abundant in things that you don’t want or in things your want? The life you want? Are you writing a story of lack? Pursuing happiness rather than living it, looking for your soul-mate and not loving yourself? Living for “someday.”
Have you had enough?
Do you know you ARE enough?
It takes conscious awareness that we are grabbing onto these distractions, instant gratifications, and escapism to feel better. We have to let that go, let go of all the ways we have tried to fit into a world order we do not thrive in. Curate what you expose yourself to, who you surround yourself with, the beliefs you take on…
The world is abundant, and this abundance is a higher order of existence. It’s a completely different world. It is “simpler, easier, and more elegant. And it’s more fun.”
How do we access the abundant world?
Start with what you can do. “Micro yes” and work on a “1% improvement everyday.” Work on your thoughts and thought processes and shift from negative to positive. It’s time to choose and to choose to jump out of those old patterns. “The past is an advisor, not a determinant.” Stop telling your old story of about your life, about money, about your failures, about your successes, and find that voice that you came into this world with. It’s time to listen to it. Think about what you yearn for. What brings you joy? Find your why.
If you forgot, go back to your childhood. That sense of curiosity and wonder. “Eyes wide open and sparkly.” When we looked at everything new with this feeling of possibility and this okayness with “I don’t know.” It’s okay not to know. We are not defined with what we know and what we don’t know. Bring back all of you. Let your fire and your light burn bright! Suspend your judgment of what is wrong and what is right about your life, and go from how you feel. Before you know it, your circle will be full of this same energy, pulsating with creativity, love, and life.
